Neal Rubin: Comedian has no boundaries, at hometown’s expense

If you're a comedian in Detroit — which, conveniently, Michael McDaniel is — the material writes itself. Next week, he'll perform as a national act at the third annual Detroit International Comedy Festival in Royal Oak. That's a promotion from last year, when he was booked as a local act.
